Debut 5 track EP from mary in the junkyard who are a big tip from Rough Trade shops for 2024. Their stellar reputation grew rapidly after a series of rowdy live performances in London last year, with over 20 of those being at Brixton’s Windmill, as well as Green Man and End of the Road festivals. The EP includes playful lead track 'Ghost' which was produced by XL's Richard Russell and is built on lots of ooweeoos and a howling and big breezy key change. The track is delicate and spidery and would sit perfectly in your collection next to Life Without Buildings and Blonde Redhead. Also included on the EP is the fragile cut ‘Tuesday’ which the NME said "plays like a slowburn to a frenzied finale: staccato guitar and Freeman-Taylor’s whisper-like vocal meld with a careening intensity before reaching a two-minute crescendo".
